latency (2013)

Latency (2013) is the result of my experimenting with alternative photographic processes. This series features scanographs and photograms that gave me the creative freedom to make minimal forms and abstractions by manipulating light, distressing photographic paper, darkroom chemicals, and moving objects over a running scanner. I never quite knew what the result would be from each experiment, and it became a very therapeutic and spontaneous experience. The finalized images take on assumed, imagined, or idealized forms, and can be read the way one interprets an inkblot.
